Emu proteus x2
(Apologies to anyone if I don't have the story line 100%.) But I do remember converting some EIII and EIV samples to run in the Proteus X/Emulator X line of software. Don't quote me, but I think it was-yeah, we developed it for them, never got paid/never got paid enough/they did something other than what we discussed/agreed to or something like that. I believe it was developed in conjunction with Chicken Systems, but I remember ready about an issue between Chicken Systems and E-Mu about that tool. Also, the Proteus X2 bundle I bought had a tool to convert *.e4b files for use with Proteus VX. That being said, I think if I ever wanted to create a new 4 x 4 virtual knob CC matrix, I could do that so I am not limited to the factory settings in the Proteus VX.īottom line: with newer PCs, the Proteus VX can be an excellent tool to playback *.exb files with the legendary E-Mu samples.

I think I might have an older PC where it does work, but its not worth it as the Proteus SoftSynth used way too much CPU power for those older PCs. I just know that my bought-and-paid-for X2 would no longer work with either an E-Mu PCI card or the Xmidi2x2 usb interface that came bundled with the Proteus X2. Not sure if it was a PUP or some other issue. In addition to the sometimes faulty dongle method of copy protection with the Proteus X2, I seem to recall having a problem that some anti-virus programs or PC tuner programs flagged it as problematic. I forget all the features that are missing, but it is handy to have. The VX version if you want it as a barebones counterpart to the rompler. So far as I know the Proteus VX Softsynth is an extremely lightweight (as in limited features) version of the more full-featured Proteus X2 Softsynth and the totally full-featured Emulator X3 SoftSynth/Sampler.

Do you have any knowledge about Edirol Virtual Sound Canvas? I can't seem to find how to control the LFO, like you can do in Edirol Orchestral.Įdit: Ok I'm on a roll here or something I found it under Automation - Vibrato rate, is this the only way to go, to manually write the LFO rate ascending for each note, or is there any other way? SteveI managed to get it to work and THANK YOU alot this is a gold mine! I SWEAR I found the guitar sound from Mega Man X3 in there haha! And I managed to find my way to other nice programs. even when I choose to install in D, it installed the samples in C, I thought moving the files would suffice but apparently not. Got the problem that it couldn't find the samples. the soundfonts I found were mostly chopped-up or bugged and badly looped. Oh alright, thanks for all the help! Now I just have to find those old video games sounds. Is it the Mega pack? I'm just having a hard time trusting Ebay (dunno why) but is this the legit way to get it?īut I just don't understand much of the answers there, I've tried to find a tutorial but haven't found it somehow, so a link to that, how to get to these old sounds, would be nice too but not needed! I managed to find some soundfonts but they were so choppy or broken, I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I guess no VST exist but samples seems to do, so is this what I should get in order to get this sound? I've always wanted a sound library like that, a variety of every instrument in one, but haven't found it. Hi, I'm a beginner in music production so there's much I don't know yet, but I stumbled upon this video of E-MU ProteusĪnd I just need that sound, along with Proteus 2 and 3.
